Tri-Ring Metalforming × Digital Dafa: The integrated 3D CAD/CAPP/PLM platform has been successfully accepted, establishing a benchmark for the digital transformation of metalforming equipment.

Recently, the integrated R&D management platform for 3D CAD/CAPP/PLM, jointly developed by Hubei Tri-Ring Metalforming Equipment Co.,Ltd (referred to as "Tri-Ring Metalforming") and Digital Great Wall, has successfully passed acceptance testing. From blueprint planning to practical implementation, this project has not only achieved a digital upgrade of the entire R&D process for metalforming equipment but has also established a collaborative system spanning the entire "design-process-manufacturing" chain, setting a benchmark for the digital transformation of the metal forming machine tool manufacturing industry.

Project Core: Use an integrated platform to address R&D pain points and achieve core objectives.

As a leading enterprise in China's metal forming machine tool manufacturing industry, Tri-Ring Metalforming is affiliated with the Tri-Ring Group. Its core business includes more than 200 models across eleven major categories of metalworking equipment, such as CNC bending machines, laser cutting machines, and precision forging machines. These products are widely used in critical sectors including energy, automotive, aerospace, and defense industries. As the industry advances toward digital transformation, pain points such as data silos in the R&D process, inconsistent designs, and version control issues have become key bottlenecks hindering the company's upgrade efforts.

The newly completed integrated R&D management platform, built on a unified 3D CAD design tool and centered around project management, precisely addresses key pain points and smoothly achieves the core objectives of “three unifications, two enhancements, and one reconstruction,” with all resulting outcomes now being effectively implemented and yielding tangible results.

Pooling Strengths from All Sides: From Thorough Planning to Bold Implementation, Harnessing Collaborative Power

The successful completion and acceptance of the project would not have been possible without the joint efforts of both teams and the high attention paid by Tri-Ring Metalforming's management. Looking back to the project’s initiation phase, both sides had already set clear goals and defined their respective roles, laying a solid foundation for subsequent progress.

Cheng Sheng, Project Manager of Tri-Ring Metalforming, provided a unified deployment from three aspects: implementation background, supporting conditions, and personnel responsibilities, clearly defining the division of labor and the pace of project advancement within the team. Huang Peng, Project Manager of Digital Greatness, elaborated in detail on dimensions including construction goals, implementation strategies, organizational plans, and risk management, and assembled a team of experienced key personnel to provide end-to-end support for the project.

Zhou Hongxiang, Chief Engineer of Tri-Ring Metalforming and Deputy Leader of the project, provided support from both technical and resource perspectives. Drawing on the practical pain points faced by engineers, he emphasized that digital transformation is an inevitable choice for enterprises seeking strategic upgrades. At the acceptance meeting, General Manager Zhou further put forward three key requirements, urging the team to remain humble and avoid complacency as they refine the 3D design library, establish an internal mechanism for sharing experiences, and build a long-term operations and maintenance response system to continuously optimize the project.

Two-way empowerment: Acknowledge shortcomings and strive for improvement; set benchmarks and start anew.

Acceptance is not the end point, but rather a new starting point for deepening digital applications. Chen Guixing, General Manager of the Hubei Division of Digital Greatness, congratulated the team on the project’s acceptance. He emphasized that in the future, they will continue to pool resources and support Tri-Ring Metalforming in advancing its system upgrades, extending digital capabilities from the R&D stage all the way to the production floor, and striving to establish Tri-Ring Metalforming as a benchmark for digital transformation in the industry.

Chang Dingjun, General Manager of Tri-Ring Metalforming, praised the professional capabilities and efforts of Digital Dafa. He pointed out that the company is at a critical juncture in its strategic transformation, and digitalization of R&D and design is the key driver. The successful acceptance of this platform has laid the foundation for end-to-end digital integration. The next step will focus on process modules and accelerate deep integration with ERP and MES systems.

The successful completion and acceptance of this project represent a significant achievement of collaborative innovation between Tri-Ring Metalforming and Digital Greatness. Moving forward, both parties will take this collaboration as a solid foundation to further deepen digital applications, address capability gaps, and expand business scenarios, enabling the integrated platform to fully unleash its value. This will help Tri-Ring Metalforming achieve high-quality development in the high-end metalforming equipment sector and inject stronger momentum into China's intelligent manufacturing.
